Effective October 31, 2026
In short: we keep only what we need to sell you licenses, let you sign in and answer your messages. We don't sell your information, show ads or send marketing email, and we never store your card number. We count visitors without storing IP addresses.
This policy covers the brutesoftware.com website. The Brute3D Face iPhone app has its own privacy policy.
What we collect
Your account
Your email address, your name if you give one, and your password, which is stored only as a one-way hash we can't read. Sign-up and password-reset links are emailed to you and expire after two hours.
Purchases
Payments are handled by Stripe, which collects your card and billing details under its own privacy policy. We receive and keep the order details: what you bought, the amount and currency, the date, Stripe's payment and customer IDs, and the receipt number. While you're signed in, we also remember what's in your cart.
Licenses and activations
Your license keys, and for each activation the computer's ID and name and when it was activated and last checked. We use this to enforce each license's computer limit and to let you deactivate a computer.
Messages and community posts
When you use the contact form, we keep your name, email, subject and message, our replies, and the internet (IP) address the message came from, to fight spam. Topics and posts you write in the Community are public and show your first name and last initial, never your email address.
Visitor counts
To count unique visitors, your IP address is turned into a one-way code mixed with a secret, and only that code is kept, with the first and last day it was seen. We also keep a total of page views per day. Your IP address itself is not stored for this.
Security
Short-lived records of sign-in, sign-up and activation attempts (the email address or IP address involved) are used to block password guessing and abuse.
Cookies and local storage
- brute3d_session: keeps you signed in. It's removed when you log out.
- A cookie and a few local-storage values used only for site administrators.
We don't use advertising cookies or tracking cookies of our own.
Services we rely on
- Stripe processes payments and receipts.
- GoDaddy hosts the site and sends our emails. Like any web host, it keeps standard server logs, and it may add its own script to pages to measure traffic and performance.
- Google Fonts serves the fonts the pages use, so your browser contacts Google's servers.
- YouTube plays our videos when you start one, under Google's privacy policy.
Features in our desktop software that connect to third-party services, such as AI model generators, send what you choose to those services under their own terms.
We email you only about your account and orders: sign-in links, license keys and replies to your messages. Stripe emails your payment receipt. We don't send newsletters or marketing email.
What we don't do
We don't sell or rent your personal information, and we don't share it with anyone except the services above, as needed to run the site, or when the law requires it.
Deleting your information
- Delete your account any time from My Account. Your name, email, password and Stripe customer ID are erased.
- If you bought something, the order records are kept without your name or email, for accounting and refunds, and your license keys keep working.
- To remove messages or Community posts, or to ask what we hold about you, contact us.
Children
The site isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
